A project of the most important ones which was carried out in Athens is the new “Athens Suburban Railway”. The importance of this project was high, for the circulation during the Olympic Games and the connection of the new Athens Airport with the Olympic Stadium.

The project was taken by “Alstom Transport Systems” one of the biggest and well-standing worldwide companies, which charged us the unloading, ex ship in Eleusis, the inland transportation and the final storage in Alstom’s site in Spata, for about 13.000 tons of rails 18 m. long, in parcels of about 2.500 tons per month, for construction of four-line corridor.

Although the distance between Eleusis and Spata is quite long, about 50km through Athens, we succeeded to provide sufficient number of special telescopic trawlers and made all operation with direct unloading from ships on to trucks.

In this way the cost was deducted to the minimum possible, to entire satisfaction of our principals.
