One of the most specialized projects carried out in greece is this, the power interconnection of cyclades islands with the mainland.
It started on 2015 with the submarine power cable interconnection among lavrion and syros, with extention to mykonos, tinos, paros and naxos islands.
Empowering the greek islands with sufficient electricity is in priority, so the projects are in fact continuing to the recent upgrade of submarine link among evia – andros – tinos islands and the island of salamina with capital. In addition, has already been completed the research of the sea process for the interconnection of mainland, through the peloponnese, with crete island through double submarine power cables.
The cyclades project awarded by ipto (admie) to prysmian, that leads the power cable production and the lay cable works. The sea part of lay cable was executed by one of its british cable vessels named "cable enterprise". Our company was invited to ussue all the relevant licenses that are connected with the sea submarine works for the lay of the cable along with the so called “flag waiver” in order to get permission by the ministry of shipping and island policy for the vessels that are flying different flag than the greek.
Apart the issue of the above-mentioned licenses our company was appointed as vessels’ and prysmian’s agents in greece during the execution of the works, so we monitored and followed closely all the works, we arranged mobilization and demobilization of the vessels, forwarded all the necessary directives and forms for the regular briefing to the competent authorities and the navtex.
