Another project that our company carried-out was the dispatch of approximately 2500 tons of steel frames in shipments of about 500-600 tons, for construction of a new large bridge in National road Egnatia that connects the North-West and North-East Greek borders.
The constructor of these bridge parts was the factory Costruzioni Cimolai Armando SPA Italy, who assigned the sea transport to Master Shipping, Genova and our Company undertook the unloading of the cargo from the vessels and inland transportation to the final destination.
The bridge parts had to be transported to the village named Krystalopigi, in North-West Greece.
The port that we used was the Igoumenitsa port that mostly serves ferries, but is the nearest to the site.
Although that in this port had no previous experience for commercial cargoes and especially that kind of projects, our company undertook to train the stevedores, the crane drivers, the truckers, in order to achieve the proper conduct of work, within a very good discharging and transportation rate.
In particular we organized the unloading from the vessels by using suitable mobile cranes, also the clearance in port and inventory and the inland transportation with special trucks up to the final destination.
Although the bridge frames were very large, tall with erratic forms and difficult to handle, everything was done with personal attendance and supervision of our directors and this attributed very good results in all work.
It is noticeable that the budget of all work was planned two years before, but the whole dispatch was always postponed by the Shippers. Nevertheless we succeeded to keep this budget unchanged till the execution of the whole work.
Above job was carried-out successfully too, to full satisfaction of the Shippers, the Receivers and all involved parties.
