A job that was assigned to us by one of the most specialized shipping Companies on carriage of heavy cargoes, Messrs Intermarine LLC USA.
Our responsibility was to unload 3618 MT project cargo originating Korea from the vessel Industrial Diamond in port of Eleusis.
The main cargo was constituted by 16 modules with length 30 meters and weight over 200 MT each.
Due to the large quantity and volume, the modules were stowed in holds in four tiers, by constructing and welding in LH and TD special iron floor joists.
Above big number of joists, over 130 pieces, had to be un-welded simultaneously with the discharging operation, but hot works are strictly forbidden in commercial ports.
Nevertheless, based on our excellent relations with the port authorities we obtained permission in exception and appointed a specialized work-shop to un-weld the joists.
As a result all these cargoes were unloaded from the vessel within a very good time of four shifts and our principals awarded us for our most excellent work.
